Swift success
for kennels firm |
LUXURIOUS boarding kennels and cattery business Acorn Lodge, run by twins Hayley and Nigel Bedford, is among a handful of Peterborough firms that have won a Swift Award in a national campaign to find local companies across the UK that deliver quick, reliable and best value service.
Acorn Lodge and three other Peterborough businesses were chosen following a rigorous judging review, which assesed a shortlist of more than 50 companies and retailers across the area. The tough criteria investigated how each business sets prices, resolves complaints, retains loyal customers and exceeds expectations.
All four firms will now be featured on www.SwiftRelief.co.uk, a unique online directory that gathers together Britain's best local businesses.
As well as Acorn, the other Peterborough winners are Tresham Motors Ltd., Bluebell Plaice and Home from Home.

Boarding enterprise grows from
strength to strength |
The full name of the business-
Acorn Lodge Luxury Boarding Kennels, Cattery, Small Breeds Boarding & Muddy Paws Dog Grooming Parlour - may be a mouthfull, but the venture has proved highly successful.
Situated just off the A47 Thorney Road, Eye, near Peterborough, it is owned and run by the Bedford family and a team of animal-loving staff.
The family bought the large bungalow and kennels 18 months ago with no existing business.
One of the first things they did was to build a luxury cattery and revamp the existing kennels to luxury standard.
A month later they started to promote the business since when it has gone from strength to strength.
The Bedfords - Norman and wife Joy, son Nigel and daughter Hayley - have had to extend the grooming parlour to accommodate the increase in demand for grooming. They now employ two full time grooming staff as well as Hayley.
They have just completed a new
|
state-of-the-art kennel block to meet the demandof bookings for the boarding kennels.
This is down to the dedication, knowledge, hard work and the love of animals of Norman,Joy Nigel and Hayley and their team of staff.

All the staff are trained to administer all tyoes of medication including diabetic pets if required. The site is fully alarmed and covered fully by by CCTV. Both boarding and grooming welcome all dogs, from the smallest to the largest.
